Where We Work

Across Africa

Building trusted partnerships with governments, universities, healthcare institutions, and communities to strengthen sustainable health systems across the African continent. Status: Partnership Development across multiple African countries.

Kenya is our first active partnership — not our only future geography. African Sahara Charity Foundation works toward long-term partnerships across the African continent, building durable institutional relationships before any project is considered.

This page explains how the Foundation works across Africa. Projects each have their own dedicated pages; here you will find the partnership approach that makes them possible.

Partnerships before projects

We build institutional relationships first. A project begins only where partnerships already exist on the ground.

Government collaboration

We work alongside national and regional health authorities who own and operate their systems.

University engagement

We partner with universities and teaching hospitals to build local capacity and a durable workforce.

Donor engagement

We engage development banks, foundations, and institutional donors aligned with long-horizon health goals.

Regional collaboration

We support collaboration that connects countries and strengthens the wider African health ecosystem.

Continent-wide vision

Our commitment is to sustainable health systems across Africa, advanced country by country through partnership.

We enter a country only when institutional and regulatory relationships exist on the ground — with regulators, teaching hospitals, and the local health authorities that own the system.

Kenya is the first active partnership, where scoping for the Pan-African Medical Platform and connected programs is underway. Every additional country will appear here only when its partnership is publicly announced, following the same disciplined, partnership-led approach.

Working alongside governments

We do not parachute. Sustainable health systems are built by the national and regional health authorities that own and operate them.

Our work alongside governments is grounded in the principle that institutions must lead. We bring technical partnership, long-horizon commitment, and a willingness to design systems together with the authorities responsible for public health.

This includes alignment with national health plans, responsible stewardship of charitable resources, and transparent reporting through the Transparency Center.

Universities and teaching hospitals are the engine of a durable health system — and central to how we work.

Through academic partnership we build the workforce, the research, and the clinical training that allow health systems to be owned and operated locally over the long term. Education, capacity building, and knowledge transfer are inseparable from our approach.

Regional collaboration

Health challenges and health systems do not stop at national borders.

We support regional collaboration that connects countries — shared training, shared referral pathways, and coordinated institutional partnerships. This is what allows a mobile platform, a digital backbone, and a future medical campus to function as parts of one regional ecosystem.

A shared vision for Africa

Our vision is a future in which governments, universities, hospitals, donor organizations, and African Sahara Charity Foundation work together for Africa's health.

Long-horizon partnership is the only difference between a single project and a lasting health system. Everything we do is designed to build institutional partnerships, local ownership, capacity, and long-term sustainability — across the African continent.

Current partnership development

Status: African Sahara Charity Foundation is currently engaged in partnership-development activities across multiple African countries. Kenya is the Foundation's first active partnership. These activities do not constitute the delivery of operating healthcare services; no clinical services are operating at this time.
